Chris Barron will head west for a series of “solo rockcoustic” shows next week. The singer will perform two self-proclaimed “half-baked” shows in Anchorage, Alaska on November 5 and 7. The gigs will take place at Ernie’s Bungalow and Chilkoot Charlie’s, respectively. Barron will then return to the continental U.S. for shows at San Francisco’s Swedish American Hall (11/11), Los Angeles’ The Mint (11/12) and Portland, OR’s Mr. Tabor Theater (11/13).

This past Saturday Barron also made a surprise appearance in Woodstock, NY at Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble. Barron, a longtime friend of Helm’s saxophonist Erik Lawrence, emerged for The Band staple “The Weight.” (Lawrence’s father was one of the Spin Doctors’ early mentors). Lawrence also recently sat in with Barron and his group the Time Bandits at New York’s Sullivan hall.
