On Saturday night in Richmond, VA, Perpetual Groove will present The John Hughes Halloween Variety Show. This performance at The National will offer music drawn from the many movies of the late filmmaker. The group encourages its fans to come attired for the occasion, explaining “We highly suggest you attend dressed as your favorite character from any of John Hughes’ movies. Except maybe Curly Sue.”

Meanwhile, Perpetual Groove’s frontman Brock Butler has just released his debut solo recording. Lately Here Though was produced by David Barbe and recorded in Athens, GA at Chase Park Transduction. Guest players on the disc include PGroove’s Albert Suttle, as well as Karolyn Troupe and Daniel Lawson of Venice is Sinking.
