Umphrey’s McGee celebrated All Hallow’s Eve at Las Tortugas Dance of The Dead in Groveland, CA. Here the group not only covered other group’s songs but took things a bit further by offering some mash-ups over the course of the night. Umphrey’s closed out set one with “Sweet Sunglasses,” a mash-up of “Sweet Dreams” (Eurhythmics), “Sunglasses at Night” (Corey Hart), and “Electric Feel” (MGMT). Then midway through set two the band performed “Night Gambler” which fused “The Gambler” (Kenny Rogers), “Night Fever” (The Bee Gees) and “Rapper’s Delight” (Sugarhill Gang). The set later closed out with “Land of Wappy,” an amalgam of the group’s “Wappy Sprayberry,” “Land of Confusion” (Genesis), and “Seek and Destroy” (Metallica). The encore then featured “40’s Theme,” before the night closed out with “Nemo’s Fat Bottomed Good Times,” which melded UM’s “Nemo” along with “Fat Bottomed Girls” (Queen) and “Good Times, Bad Times” (Led Zeppelin). Also of note was the appearance of Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann, who appeared during “Professor Wormbog.”
