Now that the Allman Brothers Band has wrapped up its summer/early fall tour, the Derek Trucks Band is back on the road. Halloween found the DTB in Stamford, CT for a two set show at the Palace Theatre. Highlights included the version of “Afro Blue” that closed set one, “Evil Clown” and “Goin’ Down Slow” from set two as well as the “Freddie’s Dead” encore. Over the coming weeks, the group will travel up to Montreal, down to the South and then back to the Northeast. A number of support acts have been confirmed, including Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band in New London, CT this Thursday, Col. Bruce & The Quark Alliance (with Duane Trucks on drums) over three days in the South, Tinsley Ellis on December 3 (which promises to be a burner of a night) and Shannon McNally back in New York. Next up is a gig on Wednesday at the Sherman Theatre in Stroudsburg, PA with MiZ opening the night.
