As we first reported earlier this year, Backyard Tire Fire enlisted Los Lobos’ Steve Berlin to produce the follow-up to 2008’s The Places We Lived. Jeff Stuart Saltzman (Death Cab for Cutie, Stephen Malkmus, The Decemberists) engineered the sessions for Good to Be. The current BTF line-up of Ed Anderson (guitar and vocals), Matt Anderson (bass and vocals) and Tim Kramp (drums) appear on this disc, with Berlin also guesting on every track. Good to Be is set for a February 16 release when the group will tour in support of the disc.

This coming Saturday, Backyard Tire Fire will perform in St. Louis at Blueberry Hill.
