Grace Potter & the Nocturnals will close 2009 with series of shows at South Burlington, VT’s Higher Ground. The Vermont-bred group will perform at the venue on December 26, 27, 28 and 31. Lendway will support on December 26, while Alberta Cross will open on both December 27 and 28. Potter’s New Year’s Eve show will include a champagne toast at midnight, a balloon drop, party favors and an opening set by the Book’em Blues Band (Trey Anastasio Band’s Russ Lawton, Blues and Lasers’ John Rogone Red Hot Juba’s D. Davis and Bob Wagner).

Looking ahead, the band’s first show in 2010 will take place on January 9 at one of Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble in Woodstock, NY. Nocturnals bassist Catherine Popper recently sat in at one of Helm’s Woodstock jams.
