As we reported, Furthur performed a show on Friday afternoon in Fairfax, CA at a 300 capacity venue. The gig at 19 Broadway opened with a fitting “Playin’ in the Band” and also included Grateful Dead staples “Althea,” “Let It Grow,” “Cassidy,” “Lady with a Fan,” “Terrapin” and the familiar run from “Help on the Way” into “Slipknot!” and “Franklin’s Tower,” before concluding with a cover of “Good Lovin’.” The set also featured the band’s second take on a new Phil Lesh original, “Welcome to the Dance,” which appeared before “Cassidy.”

After the group’s performance was complete, the night did not end for Bob Weir, who made his way over to Harbor Lights in Sausalito, CA where RatDog guitarist Mark Karan was celebrating the release of his latest disc, Walk Through The Fire. Weir arrived in time to sit with with Karan’s band, which also consisted of RatDog bassist Robin Sylvester, J.T. Thomas, and Wally Ingram. There Weir guested on “Sugaree,” “Hey Pocky Way,” “Lovelight,” and “Tonight I’ll be Staying Here with You.”
