Singer/songwriter Todd Sheaffer has had quite the month. The weekend before Thanksgiving, Sheaffer’s primary band Railroad Earth played three shows at Boulder, CO’s Fox Theatre. On the second night of the run, Panjea’s Dan Sears emerged to play flugelhorn/trumpet on a handful of songs and String Cheese Incident’s Keith Moseley sat in on both Jimmy Martin’s “Hold What You Got” and “Head.” Sears returned for a good portion of the band’s set Saturday night, including a cover of The Band’s “Ophelia” that featured Vince Herman on lead vocals.

Sheaffer then returned to New Jersey to rehearse for his original band From Good Homes’ upcoming reunion shows. In addition to a few private rehearsals, the band played a stealth warm-up gig at New York’s Mercury Lounge on Wednesday. The band ran through over twenty songs during its two-set show, including “Way To Go Pam,” “Broken Road,” “Ride All Night,” “There She Goes,” “House On A Hill,” “Black Elk Speaks,” “Suzanna Walker,” “Relationships Are Strange,” “Butterfly And The Tree,” “Comin On Home,” ”True Love,” “If The Wind Blows,” “Cool Me Down,” “The Giving Tree,” “Decision Song,” “Bang That Drum,” “I Only Want,” “Mystery Man,” “2nd Red Barn On The Right,” “Mess,” “Fruitful Acre,” “Ice Cream” and “Grandma’s Apple Dumplings.”

This past weekend Sheaffer linked up with Railroad Earth for two gigs at Stroudsburg, PA’s Sherman Theater. He will spend this week touring with Greensky Bluegrass. His upcoming shows with the band include:
