The Black Crowes brought its 2009 tour to a close with five shows at San Francisco’s Fillmore Auditorium. Last night, the band wrapped things up by inviting out Phil Lesh for its five-song encore. The Grateful Dead bassist emerged for the Black Crowes’ first takes on “Loose Lucy” and “To Lay Me Down” and remained onstage for “Sugaree,” “Deal” and “Turn On Your Lovelight.” The Black Crowes’ Chris Robinson has clocked in time as a member of Phil Lesh & Friends.

A night earlier, the members of the Crowes’ steady opening act Truth & Salvage Co. also emerged for a cover of “Will The Circle Be Unbroken” at the end of the night. In addition, Joe Magistro, a veteran of Rich Robinson’s Hookah Brown project and contributor to the Crowes’ new album, played percussion throughout the multi-night run.
