Galactic’s TRL with Tea Leaf Green

As previously reported, Galactic and Tea Leaf Green will perform together at Philadelphia’s TLA on February 4 and New York’s Terminal 5 on February 5. In addition to some other surprises, each night both bands will take the stage together to play a different fan-selected cover. Though the members of Galactic and Tea Leaf Green have appeared together a number of times over the years, this is the first time all the members of both groups have collaborated in such a formal setting. Cyril Neville will also sing with Galactic both nights.

The two groups have narrowed the Throw-down Request Live choices to a pool of six classic covers: “Don’t Do It” (The Band), “Starman” (David Bowie), “I Want You Back” (Jackson 5), “So Lonely” (The Police). “Can’t You Hear Me Knockin‘” (The Rolling Stones) and “You Can Make It If You Try” (Sly & The Family Stone). Most of these songs would be first time covers.

To cast your Throw-down Request Live vote, simply visit the bands’ official voting page. If you’re unfamiliar with the songs you can also listen while you vote. The bands are expected to collaborate on a different cover each night of the two-show run.

Thanks for the note. The information about these being first-time covers was from the band members themselves. I guess they forgot or something. Either way, this has been fixed

Galactic has played Don’t Do It dozens of times. Mostly when Houseman was still in the band but also with special guests such as JJ Grey from time to time.

yeah but this time they’ll have an army of sound, a bunch of vocalists and the guy from Rebirth on horns! Could be awesome! Can’t You hear Me Knockin’ would be amazing too.
