Athens, GA-based songwriter Vic Chestnutt died on Christmas Day. Now, a number of his friends, contemporaries and admirers will come together for tribute shows at Athens, GA’s 40 Watt Club on February 19 and 20. Notable musicians scheduled to appear at The Vic Shows include: Athens hero Daniel Hutchens (Bloodkin), Chestnutt’s longtime friend/producer John Keane, Drive-By Truckers producer Dave Barbe, Widespread Panic drummer Todd Nance (who played with Chesnutt in Brute), Will Johnson (Centro-matic) and Chestnutt’s recent collaborators Elf Power, Guy Picciotto and Mt. Zion. Victoria Williams, who recorded with Chestnutt on the Sweet Relief project, will also perform.
