Widespread Panic has confirmed some opening acts for its spring tour. Band of Horses will support the group at Raleigh, NC’s Walnut Creek Amphitheatre from April 23-24 and at Orange Beach, AL’s The Wharf from May 7-8. Robert Randolph & the Family Band will also open for the group at Tulsa, OK’s Bok Center on May 1. Though Robert Randolph has joined the members of Panic onstage numerous times since 2002, he has not sat in with the band since Bonnaroo in 2008. Widespread Panic keyboardist JoJo Hermann is also a new fan of Band of Horses. “I attended Bonnaroo for the first time as a fan—wandering from stage to stage—and I got turned onto two bands that really blew me away and took away my ‘it’s all been done’ jadedness instantly,” he recently told Jambands.com “They played back to back on the Which Stage. They were Band of Horses and Andrew Bird. I play their records over and over, as do many of your readers I’m sure.”
