Andrew Altman

Railroad Earth will return to the stage at month’s end to begin the next phase of its career without longtime bassist Johnny Grubb. Joining the group will be Andrew Altman. As the Railroad Earth explains on its website,“Andrew is a deeply talented, young player, currently living in Atlanta, GA (Yep, Grubb came from there too!) who some of you may know from either The Codetalkers or Blueground Undergrass. He initially made an impression on the band when The Codetalkers opened for Railroad Earth in North Carolina a couple of years back. When he heard about the opening in RRE, he reached out immediately, drove from Atlanta to New Jersey with his upright bass, and simply killed it with the band!”

Meanwhile fans of Grubb’s performances can look back with Railroad Earth Retrospective: 2001-2009. This bundled digital package includes: 21 soundboard recordings of previously unreleased RRE shows from 2001-2009 (mastered by RRE’s long-time sound tech, Mike Partridge), 30 minutes of video footage of the group and a downloadable booklet with art, photos and a poster.

Railroad Earth will next perform on February 26 in in Bayshore, NY at the Boulton Center for the Performing Arts.
