Seattle’s Flowmotion will release the new studio album Ghost Pepper on March 17. The album was produced by Scott Colburn, whose credits include Animal Collective, Arcade Fire and Sun City Girls.

“I don’t know that there’s many bands that can say they went into the studio and in one day they’d captured an album,” guitarist Josh Clauson says in a statement. “We did it as a set-list, not song by song, as if we were playing live. After several run-throughs with Scott Colburn, that was it. We did it instrumentally at first, spent another day doing vocals, and re-recorded one new tune. Then Scott put the track order together and poof, there it is!”

The group will celebrate the album’s release with a free St. Patrick’s Day Fan Appreciation Extravaganza show at Seattle’s The Tractor Tavern on March 17. The group will also by celebrate the album’s release with a series of Northwest shows. Flowmotion’s CD release events include:

March 19 Bellingham, WA—Wild Buffalo (with Hot Buttered Rum)

March 20 Vancouver BC— The Vogue Theater (with Hot Buttered Rum)
