Big Light performs at the Relix office Friday

Big Light made its New York debut Saturday night at Sullivan Hall. The San Francisco-based group recently released its debut studio album Animals in Bloom on Reapandsow Records and made its way to the East Coast for the first time last week. The group’s bassist Steve Adams had a schedule conflict with his other band ALO, so the Slip’s Marc Friedman sat in with Big Light throughout its entire set Saturday night. In addition, Brothers Past guitarist Tom Hamilton sat in on a cover of Wilco’s “Handshake Drugs.” Hamilton opened the night with American Babies. Big Light will perform at Austin’s SXSW this weekend.
