Brad Barr with Big Light

The Slip, recently recharged as of late, took the stage this weekend at Austin’s SXSW music conference. The trio performed at the club Shangri-La, offering a short set that mixed a few new originals with Eisenhower tracks “Paper Birds,” “Children of December” and “Soft Machine.” The trio recently recorded some songs for a forthcoming studio project.

After his set with the Slip, guitarist Brad Barr sat in with Big Light at a private event held in a suite in Austin’s Hilton Hotel. Barr joined the band for the Big Light original “Peace together Wings.” The industry-heavy audience included the likes of John Popper, Talking Heads’ Jerry Harrison, DJ Logic, Andrew Barr, The Mother Hips and Papa Mali, among others.
