The Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Band has confirmed the lineup for its first show. As previously reported, the group will debut at Georgia’s Savannah Music Festival on April 1. In addition to Trucks and Tedeschi, the ensemble will feature
Oteil Burbridge (bass), Kofi Burbridge (keyboards, flute), JJ Johnson (drums), Tyler Greenwell (drums), Mike Mattison (vocals) and Nigel Hall (vocals).

Trucks plays with Oteil Burbridge in the Allman Brothers Band, and both Kofi Burbridge and Mike Mattison play in the Derek Trucks Band. Nigel Hall is a singer and keyboardist who has performed with Soulive, Lettuce and Robert Randolph as of late. JJ Johnson has played drums with John Mayer and Trucks’ Eric Clapton band collaborator Doyle Bramhall II, while Tyler Greenwell has played with both Tedeschi and Col. Bruce Hampton & the Codetalkers.

The band says, “Some of these names will sound familiar while others may be new to some of you, but all share a vision for the new project and have been among the rotating cast of musicians hanging in Jacksonville at the Trucks-Tedeschi studio. Expect a lot of brand new material in April produced over the last few months with collaboration and inspiration from the extended family. We’re excited for you to take this journey with us as the songbook and lineup evolve throughout the year.”
