Marco Benevento has confirmed an extensive tour in support of his new album Between The Needles & Nightfall. The album is scheduled for release on May 11 through Benevento’s own Royal Potato Family records. The piano player finished his Monday night residency at Brooklyn, NY’s Bar 4 last night. In addition to the core combo on bassist Marc Friedman (The Slip) and drummer Ryan Thornton (RANA/Sam Champion/Sean Bones), the evening featured sit ins from Kevin Kendrick (A Big Yes And A Small No) and Kevin Johnston (the venue’s bartender), as well as a variety of audience members.
Benevento’s tour mostly include dates with his trio, which features Reed Mathis (Tea Leaf Green) and Andrew Barr (The Slip). He will also pull double duty on a few occasions and play with both his trio and Surprise Me Mr. Davis. Xylos and American Babies will support at select shows.
