Radiohead drummer Phil Selway has released the first track off his solo debut, Familial. The track, “By Some Miracle,” finds Selway singing and is streaming on Jambands.com’s sister site Relix.com.

Selway’s backing band for the album features Lisa Germano and Sebastian Steinberg, as well as Wilco drummer Glenn Kotche and multi-instrumentalist Pat Sansone. As the album’s publicity notes, “The very first seeds of Familial were planted in 2001 when Neil Finn organized an impromptu gathering of talent, including Johnny Marr, Eddie Vedder, Lisa Germano, former Soul Coughing bassist Sebastian Steinberg, Selway and his Radiohead bandmate Ed O’Brien, in aid of charity.” The collective’s second recorded effort, last year’s double-disc The Sun Came Out, saw Selway, for the first time, take a lead vocal (“The Ties That Bind Us” which is featured on Familial).

The album will be released August 1. Radiohead is also working on the followup to In Rainbows.
