Jerry Joseph and the Jackmormons will headline a three-day camping festival this September. Blackwood will take place in Mercersberg, PA from September 17-19. As the band says, “this is our attempt at an east coast version a la dixie mattress-banditos we are excited to bring the magic 🙂 of the jmo 3 day madness to the east. the land is private land close to stoners farm spitting distance from downtown mercersberg. legal issues dictate this as a private party that you are invited to. the place is gorgeous and we are EXTREMELY lucky to be able to have it the idea is to start an annual event so lets not fuck it up…as we don’t want anybody to feel cramped there is only so much camping space so invitations will be limited to 200 firm at this writing we are looking at a $120 dollar invite so when they go on sale buy quickly!”

A variety of other acts are scheduled to join the event’s bill in the coming weeks. The event is five hours from New York City, two hours from Philadelphia, two hours from Washington, DC and six hours from North Carolina. Several camping and hotel options are available.

Joseph will perform with his band The Denmark Veseys at New York’s The Shrine tonight and with the Jackmormons at New York’s Sullivan Hall tomorrow. Since the members of Widespread Panic are in town, it is highly probable some guests may sit in at the shows.
