Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers Postpone Show After Mike Campbell Faints Onstage

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers postponed last night’s show at Cleveland’s Blossom Music Center. Heartbreakers’ guitarist Mike Campbell fainted onstage in St Louis Sunday night due to extreme heat and humidity this past Sunday, and the guitarist has been advised by doctors to take a few days rest after fainting on stage. Campbell left the stage for ten minutes in St. Louis after fainting, but he later returned for an encore consisting of “Refugee,” “Runnin’ Down A Dream” and “American Girl.”

The group will return to the Blossom Music Center on August 31. Previously purchased tickets will be honored.

If this happened on Sunday, why were we not notified until Tuesday, 3 hours prior to the show, that the concert was postponed? This was a major inconvience for many people that traveled to Akron for this show.

I live in St. Louis and have seen Tom Petty here the last 4 times he was here. But sunday has very hot and the HUMIDITY was bad. We did not go to the outdoor concert. Mike Campbell might of needed more rest at the last minute. These guys and myself to ARE NOT IN ARE 20’s anymore and better safe then dead when it comes to the heat and your heath. I hope Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers come back to St. Louis and play indoors at THE FOX THEATER NEXT year!!!!
