The members of String Cheese Incident reunited last night for a show at Morrison, CO’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre. With the exception of gigs in Denver, CO and Rothbury, MI last summer, the group has not performed publicly since 2007.

Last night’s reunion opened with “Can’t Stop Now,” a song the band played at its final Red Rocks run in 2007. Next, the band opened up for an extended “’Round the Wheel” and later offered staples from throughout its career, including Talking Heads’ “This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody),” Vassar Clements’ “Lonesome Fiddles Blues,” Keller Williams’ “Best Feeling,” “Outside and Inside” and “Rivertrance.” In addition, String Cheese Incident debuted covers of MGMT’s “Time to Pretend” and Joe Walsh’s “Rocky Mountain Way” (first performed by his band Barnstorm) as well as SCI frontman Bill Nershi’s “Song in My Head” (an original Nershi has played with his other bands during String Cheese Incident’s hiatus). The show came to a close with an appropriate version of “Brand New Start.” String Cheese Incident’s reunion run will continue at Red Rocks tonight.

A few videos from Friday night can be found in The Loop.
