Jackie Greene opened several shows for Gov’t Mule over the past few days. He has also established a pattern of sitting in with Gov’t Mule for some covers during its encore. At Birmingham, AL’s Sloss Furnace, this past Thursday, Greene sat in on the Grateful Dead’s “Loser” and the Rolling Stones’ “Monkey Man” (Greene first played the latter song with the band in Upper Darby, PA on Halloween). A few nights later, Greene returned to the stage with Mule at Pittsburgh, PA’s Trib Total Media Amphitheatre for Neil Young’s “Southern Man” and “Cortez the Killer.” Gov’t Mule will perform at Raleigh, NC’s Raleigh Boutique Amphitheatre this evening.
