A Look at the David Gilmour and Roger Waters Reunion

On Saturday, July 10 Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour and Roger Waters took the stage together for the first time since Live 8 in 2005. The two reunited to support the Hoping Foundation, which was raising money for the Children of Gaza. Gilmour and Waters performed Phil Spector’s “To Know Him Is To Love Him,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Comfortably Numb” and “Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2) backed by Guy Pratt (bass and acoustic guitar), Harry Waters (keyboards), Andy Newmark (drums), Chester Kamen (guitar), and Jonjo Grisdale (keyboards). The Hoping Foundation has now posted a video of the performance which appears above.

As we reported, Waters has also posted to his Facebook page that Gilmour will join him for one show on Waters’ upcoming tour in which he will perform The Wall.

Two of the best faces in rock history! Waters was a lyrical and musical genius writing all the words for The Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall. And the music for the entire Wall album, Animals, and collaborated with the band musically on Dark Side and Wish You Were Here! David Gilmour an incredible, unique guitar player who helped make that trademark Floyd sound with his guitar work and his smooth pleasing vocals on many of the bands songs. Although Waters sang more and more starting with Animals and most of The Wall. But as great as they both were, they needed each others contributions along with Rick Wright & Nick Mason to be the great Pink Floyd. This could be one of the last glimpses in this benefit reunion to see them together! As much as I’d love to see a 2011 charity tour Gilmour & Waters with all the proceeds going to a good cause like this, I dont think it will happen. Gilmour will join Waters for a date on his Wall tour this year though! if I knew wich one that was going to be, I would get tickets and be sure to be there!
