Tonight in New Orleans Yonrico Scott, Kofi Burbridge, Randall Bramblett, Laura Reed, Diane Durrett and Charlie Wooton are among the musicians will perform at Tipitina’s as part of a Jamtrak Express event. The Jamtrak Express describes itself as “a cultural exchange program travelling the country by train. Each route has varying musical, artistic and educational experiences; each dependent on the sounds, sights and history of an area. Take a tour of the varying textures of Americana, each particular to its region. From blues, jazz, bluegrass and rock; there exists a variety to please any palate…A large part of Jamtrak’s mission is to educate ourselves and others concerning our environmental impact. Offsetting our carbon footprint by taking the train is core to our beliefs as well as being a great way of meeting new people and travelling the country. While on board, a Jamtrak eco-educator will offer an hour of explaining basic points of interest regarding the particular region being visited as well as basic facts related to how riding the train helps support the environment.”

The Jamtrak Express trip that will culminate in tonight’s show (which is open to the public) began in Atlanta on Friday.
