Dave Matthews Band headlined its annual multi-night run at George, WA’s Gorge Amphitheatre this past weekend. This year’s openers included Ben Harper and Relentless7 and Alberta Cross. As expected, Harper sat in with the evening’s headliner on Bob Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower” Saturday night. Touring Dave Matthews Band members Jeff Coffin and Rashawn Ross also joined Alberta Cross for “Rise from the Shadows.”

Dave Matthews Band has regularly busted out some rarer live songs as it prepares for its 2011 hiatus and this weekend was no exception. Friday night the band played “Sleep to Dream Her” for the first time since 2007, Saturday night the group played “Fool to Think” for the first since 2007 and Sunday night the band played “I Did It” for the first time since 2004. According to the fansite DMB Almanac, “This is the first three-night run with no repeats since the band opened for the Grateful Dead in 1995. It is also the first ever three-night run of full-length shows with no repeats.”

Dave Matthews Band will perform in New Orleans on September 9 as part of NFL Opening Kickoff 2010.

I thought this weekend was amazing! I walked away from the show on Saturday night dragging my jaw the whole way back to the campground. I have never seen a better performance, or heard a better live show in my life! There are some places in this world worth seeing, & there are some bands worth listening & watching. Bring these two forces together at the same time & you have the Dave Matthews Band closing out our summer in the great Northwest! All I have to say is thank you DMB & we look forward to kick’n it with ya out there under the stars again soon.

I love every one of these guys and have seen too many of their shows to count, and that is still kinda sad. I really wanted to say no, that’s not right, but every multi-night stand I’ve been to it turns out, sure enough there was a repeat.

I believe though GD was repeating songs almost nightly till bout 1980 or their first 15 yrs or so of their career. Not a bad thing
