Last night the Dave Matthews Band, Taylor Swift and Dirty Dozen Brass Band helped celebrate the opening of the 2010 NFL season with a performance in New Orleans at Jackson Square. DMB performed a six-song first set for those in attendance before NBC aired a three song second set. The televised performance concluded with a run from “Why I Am” into a portion of the Talking Heads’ “Burning Down The House.” That song saw guest appearances by a number of NOLA musicians who appear on the HBO series Treme. Both Kermit Ruffins and Trombone Shorty Andrews joined in, along with members of Andrews’ group, Orleans Ave. The home team went on to defeat Brett Favre and the visiting Minnesota Vikings, 14-9.
