Last night Furthur began a run of September dates with the first of two shows at the Cuthbert Amphitheater in Eugene, OR. The night opened with a jam that carried into “Shakedown Street” for a first set that also included “The Music Never Stopped,” “Doin That Rag,” “Bertha” and “Cumberland Blues.” The second set proved particularly noteworthy as it offered an extended segued run that split up “Dark Star” and The Other One,” moving from “China Cat Sunflower” into “Playin in the Band” into verse one of “Dark Star” then verse one of “The Other On” followed by verse two of “Dark Star,” verse two of “The Other One,” and then “Eyes of the World” as well as “Black Peter.” The set then concluded with “Not Fade Away.” Also of note is the fact that the band utilized Twitter actively both during and after the show, posting the setlist as well as a variety of images, including the one above, which referenced the Kings of Leon incident from earlier this summer, via the caption, “Shit! Is that a Pigeon up there?”
