As previously announced, last night in Los Angeles Primus performed its 1990 album Frizzle Fry in its entirety. Starting with “To Defy the Laws of Tradition” and continuing through “To Defy,” Frizzle Fry fully-occupied the group’s set, followed by a three song encore: “My Name Is Mud, “Bob,” “American Life” (the trio did not perform the two Residents songs “Hello Skinny” and “Constantinople” that appear on the 2002 Frizzle Fry reissue). On Wednesday the group also took the stage in LA, delivering a performance that will air on a future installment of Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The setlist included “Pudding Time” (which was cut short due to technical issues, followed by “Golden Boy,” “Tommy the Cat” > “The Awakening” > “Tommy the Cat,” “Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers” and “Over the Electric Grapevine.” Tonight Primus will return to Club Nokia for an altogether different set of material.
