Levon Helm Will Ramble Into 2011

Levon Helm has confirmed a series of Midnight Rambles that will see him celebrate the New Year at his studio/performance space. In addition to three Saturday night Rambles that will take place in December, the Levon Helm Band will perform on Friday December 31 with an as-yet-to-be-announced guest act (and tickets on sale this Friday at 10AM). Other December dates include the 4th with Amos Lee, the 11th with The Wood Brothers and the 18th with Shemekia Copeland. This Saturday another Ramble is set for the Woodstock, NY locale, with the Good Listeners sharing the bill.

I was hesitant about going to a Ramble due to the ticket price. Thanks to a gift, I went to my first Ramble a few years ago. It was a New Years Eve show. Holy Cow… Music Heaven! After 5 solid hours of great sounds, I realized that the price is an incredible bargain. I’ve been to 6 (or so) since then. I’ve never come away disappointed. So if you’re on the fence, take it from me. Its even better than you imagine.
