Dark Star Orchestra will close 2010 with three Northeast shows. The band will perform at Jim Thorpe, PA’s Penn’s Peak on December 28 and Bridgeport, CT’s The Klein from December 30-31. There will also be a limited number of VIP New Year’s Eve tickets available which include reserved seating, access to a private bar, an exclusive show poster, party favors, and a champagne toast.

Looking ahead, Dark Star Orchestra will offer a new twist on its Grateful Dead setlist concept this fall. On each stop of The City Near You Tour, which kicks off on November 26, DSO will recreate a Grateful Dead setlists taken from the town or region where the show is taking place. In another twist, the members of Dark Star Orchestra have co-written an original song with Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter called “Run Mary.” According to the band, “the upbeat song features combined vocals from Rob Barraco, Lisa Mackey and Rob Eaton.“Barraco has worked with Hunter in the past on original songs.

A free download of “Run Mary” is available when purchasing DSO tickets through its Fan Club Ticketing. The song is also available online.
