Grace Potter, G. Love, Cracker and More Go Cold Turkey

The third installment in our Cold Turkey Classics series features several performances recorded exclusively for Relix’s podcast by hosts Mike Greenhaus and Benjy Eisen on the summer festival circuit. The episode’s earliest recordings were taped backstage at festivals in 2006: a solo acoustic version of “Baby’s Got Sauce” by G. Love from Langerado, a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Loser” by Crack from Wakarusa and a raw version of “Stop the Bus” by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals from High Sierra. The episode also features a loose take on Steel Train’s “Road Song” that was recorded in the office at the New York club Pianos in 2007, as well as a take on J. Tillman (Fleet Foxes)’s haunting version of “Year in the Kingdom” recorded at Relix in 2009.
