Charlie Daniels on fiddle at the Grand Ole Opry

Last night Widespread Panic wrapped up its three night stand at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The group opened its encore with Panic’s first version of Neil Young’s “Are You Ready For The Country” in nearly three years and this proved to be an apt summation of the evening. Midway through the first set country artist Jon Randall joined in on guitar for “Pickin’ Up The Pieces.” Then, when the band emerged for the second set, it was joined by Charlie Daniels, who added fiddle to “Ain’t Life Grand,” “Who Do You Belong To?” and “Fixin’ To Die.” Later on in the evening, Randall re-emerged for “Are You Ready For The Country” and remained onstage for “When You Coming Home.” Widespread Panic then concluded its Ryman run with a slow version of “Porch Song.”

Panic returns to the stage on Friday night in Kansas City, MO.
