Last night, Particle celebrated the 10th anniversary of its first performance with a hometown show at Los Angeles, CA’s The Roxy. The performance is part of a 10th Anniversary Tour featuring former Particle guitarist Charlie Hitchcock, who joined the band shortly after its first gig. Despite his turbulent exit from the group, Hitchcock rejoined Particle for a few shows earlier this year and will tour with the band throughout the month.

Particle’s Roxy performance opened with “Kneeknocker,” the first song Particle ever wrote together, and also included the early original “Ready Made Gangsta.” In addition, the group covered Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Working for MCA” and Pink Floyd’s “One of These Days.” Near the end of the band’s first set, Doors guitarist Robby Krieger, who has played with Particle numerous times over the years, sat in on “Metropolis.” He remained onstage as vibes master Mike Dillon and singer Adam Iscove emerged for The Doors classic “Riders On The Storm.” Krieger and Iscove also helped Particle close its set with The Doors’ “Roadhouse Blues.” Particle’s anniversary run will continue at Santa Cruz, CA’s Moe’s Alley this evening.
