The remembers of moe., God Street Wine, RatDog and Leroy Justice shared the stage this past Friday at New York’s Sullivan Hall. A free birthday celebration for longtime fan Alexandra Rosenstein, the night as billed featured performances by Jaik Miller, God Street Wine’s Lo Faber and Aaron Maxwell and Leroy Justice.

Faber and Maxwell offered a mix of originals like “RU4Real” and very jammed out “Nightingale,” as well as first time covers of The Wizard of Oz classic “If I only had a Brain” and Dire Strait’s “Romeo & Juliet.” As Friday segued into Saturday—the day John Lennon would have celebrated his 70th birthday—Miller and all the members of Leroy Justice joined the God Street Wine members onstage for the Beatles’ “Hey Jude.” In addition, RatDog saxophonist Kenny Brooks also sat in on BB King’s “Sneakin’ Around.”

Leroy Justice’s headlining set also featured numerous guest appearances. Faber sat in on covers of the Allman Brothers Band’s “Dreams” and the Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” while Brooks appeared on Sam Cooke’s “Bring It on Home to Me.” After performing at the Beacon, moe. guitarist Al Schnier ventured downtown to sit in with Leroy Justice on The Band’s arrangement of “Don’t Do It.” Schnier and Brooks also joined the New York-based group for the Rolling Stones’ “Miss You.” moe.’s Rob Derhak and Chuck Garvey were spotted in attendance, though they did not take the stage.
