Phish performed at Utica, NY’s approximately 5,000-person Memorial Auditorium last night. Trey Anastasio first played the tiny arena in 2001 with Oysterhead and returned in 2005 on a solo tour. The latter show featured a mini-Phish reunion with guest appearances by both Mike Gordon and Jon Fishman on “The Divided Sky” and “Boogie On Reggae Woman” (Gordon and Anastasio also played a few acoustic songs at the show).

Last night’s performance featured several unique moments, including new lyrics in Talking Heads’ “Cities” that referenced the area-specific Genesee Factory. The band also heavily teased “Guyute” throughout its first set. Improvisational highlights were an open “Split Open and Melt” that moved into “Have Mercy,” “Piper,” the second part of “Split Open and Melt” and “Slave to the Traffic Light.”
