Assembly of Dust has locked down its New Year’s Eve plans. On December 31 the group will travel to Keene, NH for a show at the Colonial Theatre, with the Adam Ezra Group opening the night. This is an apt locale as the group has announced it will be releasing a live album that present music the band recorded at the very same venue during its New Year’s Eve show in 2007. What’s more, those who purchase tickets to this year’s show also will receive a copy of the new album, entitled Found Sound. The name is derived by the origins of the recording as sound engineer Jack Trifiro multitracked the performance without the band’s knowledge, so as not to make the group nervous. He explains, “My aim was to capture a show that was unfiltered in terms of song length, performance and energy.” Clearly he succeeded in this regard with the official release of Found Sound to follow in early 2011.
