Warren Haynes with Widespread earlier this year at Wanee

Last night Widespread Panic performed at The Joint and received plenty of help in the process. Gov’t Mule opened the show at the Las Vegas venue and Warren Haynes later emerged with Panic for the group’s encore during a run from “Waitin’ For The Bus” into “Jesus Just Left Chicago” and then “Life During Wartime.” Karl Denson, who was in town for a gig of his own, also appeared, adding sax to the first version of “Low Spark of High Heeled Boys” which carried into “Arleen” and back into “Low Spark.” In the second set, percussionist Wally Ingram, who is a member of Stockholm Syndrome along with Panic bassist Dave Schools, guested on “Papa’s Home,” which led into a “Drums” sequence and then back into the song. Finally, Carrot Top, who had made his share of Panic guest slots over the years, appeared during “Climb To Safety.”

Tonight it’s on to Harrah’s Rincon Casino & Resort in Valley Center, CA for the group.
