Big Head Todd

A momentous tour to celebrate what would be the 100th birthday of arguably the most legendary delta blues musician—Robert Johnson—is set to unfold with the New Year. The tour will coincide with a studio recording crafted through collaborations between artists in the likes of Big Head Todd & The Monsters, David “Honeyboy” Edwards, Hubert Sumlin and Cedric Burnside & Lightnin’ Malcolm.

Ardent Recording Studios in Memphis will play home to the musicians honoring Johnson this fall, as they lay down the collaborative tracks inspired by the man who sold his soul to the devil in order to play the blues. The inclusion of Edwards in this special occasion creates a direct connection to Johnson:he was an attendee at the blues master’s final live performance.

Co-produced by Ron Hausfeld and Ted Kurland Associates’ Jack Randall, The Robert Johnson Centennial Concerts will kick off on January 28 at San Francisco’s oRegency Ballroom. Additional dates are set to be added soon.
