MerleFest Will Return with Del McCoury Band, Emmitt-Nershi Band, John Hartford, Sam Bush and Many More

MerleFest will return to Wilkes Community College next year. The 24th installment of the event is set for April 28-May 1 in Wilkesboro, North Carolina. Once again the fest will celebrate “traditional-plus” which Doc Watson uses to describe the blend of “traditional, roots-oriented sounds of the Appalachian region…plus whatever other styles we were in the mood to play.” Watson will once again participate and the lineup also includes: Del McCoury Band, Emmitt-Nershi Band, John Hartford String Band, Sam Bush Band, Donna The Buffalo, The Doobie Brothers (with newest member John Cowan), Alison Brown Quartet, Rory Block, Sonny Landreth, Jim Lauderdale, Lyle Lovett, Peter Rowan Bluegrass Band, Tim O’Brien,Pete and Joan Wernick, The Waybacks and others, with the details available at the MerlfeFest site.
