British funk exports New Mastersounds celebrated Halloween with a headlining performance at New Orleans’ Tipitina’s. Art Neville was an announced guest at the show and sat in on “Ain’t No Use,” “Love Slip Upon Ya,” “Look Ka Py-Py,” “Livewire,” “9 till 5” and “Here Comes the Meter Man.” The keyboardist’s son Ian Neville—a member of Dumpstaphunk— also sat in alongside his dad. After the Nevilles left the stage, local trombonist Big Sam emerged for “Make Me Proud.” The members of New Mastersounds marked the night by dressing as the A Team.
