Next Thursday, Chicago’s Columbia College will present a special program. The Chicago Jazz Ensemble which is residence at the college will expand for a night dubbed New Orleans Now. On this evening, the CJE will be joined by Stanton Moore, Donald Harrison and Henry Butler to “present music from the tradition of New Orleans in small and large ensemble configurations, as well as some contemporary interpretations of music from famed New Orleanians such as Louis Prima and King Oliver.” Moore also will be at the college two days earlier for a Groove Alchemy clinic at its Conaway Center on Tuesday from 1-3PM. This afternoon Moore is delivering a clinic at the Percussive Arts Society in Indianapolis followed by a Stanton Moore Trio show tonight with Wil Blades and Scott Metzger.

Moore’s Galactic bandmates Robert Mercurio, Jeff Raines will perform in New Orleans tonight with their Good Enough For Good Times project which also features Simon Lott and Brian Coogan.
