The Aspen Times reports that Snowmass, CO has named Widespread Panic’s “Big Woolly Mammoth” its official song. According to an article in the paper, the song was proposed by the town’s outgoing Councilman Reed Lewis. “I just thought it was a fun thing more than anything else,” Lewis told the paper. “It’s just to remind us we’re a fun mountain town. I think Widespread fans will get a kick out of it.” Though Widespread Panic has played Snowmass at least seven times—including four shows at the town’s annual Jazz Fest—the band has never performed the Don’t Tell the Band track within the town.
