“I’ve known Ozomatli for several years,” USC Music Director Dr. Arthur Bartner said in a statement. “They’re local guys, great musicians and many of them have a marching band background. I like their style of music: very broad and versatile combining Latin, funk, and rock. We’re honored to share the field with them this Saturday.”

Ozomatli bassist Wil Dog Abers added, “as a elementary school kid attending 32nd street USC Magnet school I always dreamed of playing in the USC marching band… now I will get my chance. A dream come true for me.”

The USC Marching Band has performed with the likes of Fleetwood Mac, WAR, George Clinton, and KC & The Sunshine Band over the years.
