Mike Gordon Closes Fall Tour with Guests

Photo by Photo by Kevin Yatarola

Mike Gordon closed his fall solo tour this past Saturday at Boston’s Paradise Rock Club. During his first set, the bassist brought out Julee Avalone to play flute on “Spiral” and “Exit Wound.” Later in the night, a small horn section (saxophonist Jenny Hill, trombonist Buford O’Sullivan and trumpeter Micah Deterville) emerged for “Down To The Nightclub” and “Idea.” As previously reported, Gordon’s Phish bandmate Jon Fishman played drums throughout Friday’s performance in Maine. Gordon will close the year with a series of Phish shows in Worcester, MA and New York.

I think you guys got the guests backwards — Julee, the flautist was onstage for Spiral and Exit Wound in the first set, and the 3 piece horn section was onstage for the encore of Down to The Nightclub and Idead…
