Dark Star Orchestra guitarist Jeff Mattson and keyboardist Rob Barraco recently played two shows together as Mattson/Barraco & Friends. The musicians—who first toured together as members of the Zen Tricksters—use the project to focus on a looser and more eclectic range of songs. Mattson/Barraco & Friends will come together for a holiday show at New York’s Sullivan Hall on December 26. Like the group’s previous gigs, Barraco will play bass at these shows. The band also includes Trickster family members Jason Crosby (keyboards, fiddle) and Joe Chirco (drums). Fans who bring a can of food to the show will receive a $3 DOS discount.
