Dead Confederate was forced to cancel its fall tour with Minus the Bear after the group’s tour manager was robbed at gun point. The band and its crew are safe and will return to the stage for a few holiday shows. The members of Dead Confederate—whose MySpace page once listed Neil Young’s On The Beach, Pink Floyd’s Meddle and Nirvana’s Bleach in the ‘sounds like’ section—will play Young’s 1975 album Tonight’s the Night in its entirety this winter. The group will rework the album in four Georgia cities: Augusta (12/23), Atlanta (12/28), Macon (12/29) and Athens, GA (12/30). The band will also kick off a series of 2011 dates at Athens, GA’s 40 Watt on January 21.

Dead Confederate will perform Tonight’s the Night at the following shows

December 23 Augusta, GA—Sky City

December 28 Atlanta, GA—The Earl

December 29 Macon, GA—Cox Capitol Theater

December 30 Athens, GA—The Max Canada
