because they need the money? this, probably more than anything thing else, is the reason i don’t go to shows anymore. all you jamband wankers whose musical knowledge begins with the Dead and ends with Furthur, analyzing every friggin’ show at a microscopic level in some sort of bizarro petri dish trying to outdo each other in all your white bread privileged arrogance in search of some mythical nirvana during a three-note-run in YEM, need to stop the apotheosis and wake up and smell the collective coffee and recognize them for the cash cow they’ve become.

matt@ whats the deal? why read a phish reiew just to bitch. and please dont ever fucking consider the disco biscuits in the same league as phish. im not a huge phishead and im not a deadhead. i like both bands because they actually put out quality live performences night after night. yeah they are fucking millionares. you think they play show after show for free? stop being a pussy and just get over the fact that if your a pro musician and can sell out places like MSG on NYE or Redrocks, etc. .... your going to be making mad money. its not like they flaunt it so stop with your bitching and figure out a way that you can make a dollar instead of bitching about how successful artists “make so much money” boo-hoo. shut your mouth and open your ears.
