The Big Up Is Back

The Big Up debuted last year in Ghent New York. The event took place at Sunnyview Farm, a 1500 acre facility and saw music from such acts as: RAQ, Headtronics, Telepath, Pnuma Trio, Big Gigantic, Roots of Creation, Emancipator, OTT, Sub Swara, The Breakfast, Kung Fu, Twiddle and NY Funk Exchange. Set to return next summer, The Big Up 2011 will offer “an expanded woods village, which will include its own stage, vending, activities and camping accommodations.” All in all, the festival will present music on four stages dispersed around the facility along with an on site farmer’s market, local vending and workshops dedicated to hands-on sustainable skills and collaborative art. The Big Up will take place from July 28-30 with ticket information and artist announcements yet to follow.

I’m a Midwesterner, but you’ll get no argument from me. Southern rock is some of the best anruod! I listened to a lot of this while growing up in the early 1980s. I also would mention the Outlaws and early Charlie Daniels Band as worth checking out if you enjoy classic Southern rock like Marshall Tucker Band.Ron A.
