The Big Up
debuted last year in Ghent New York. The event took place at Sunnyview Farm, a 1500 acre facility and saw music from such acts as: RAQ, Headtronics, Telepath, Pnuma Trio, Big Gigantic, Roots of Creation, Emancipator, OTT, Sub Swara, The Breakfast, Kung Fu, Twiddle and NY Funk Exchange. Set to return next summer, The Big Up 2011 will offer “an expanded woods village, which will include its own stage, vending, activities and camping accommodations.” All in all, the festival will present music on four stages dispersed around the facility along with an on site farmer’s market, local vending and workshops dedicated to hands-on sustainable skills and collaborative art. The Big Up will take place from July 28-30 with ticket information and artist announcements yet to follow.
