An eclectic mix of musicians will participate in Brooklyn, NY’s first Rock Lottery at the recently reopened Knitting Factory tomorrow. Building on similar shows held in Denton, TX and Seattle in 1997 and 2006, respectively, twenty-five hand picked musicians will meet at the venue at 10 AM. These volunteers will then be organized into five groups through a lottery-based chance selection. The five separate groups will then be released to practice at different locations. The musicians have twelve hours to create a band name and three to five songs (with a one cover-song limit). The groups will then perform what they have created at the Knitting Factory tomorrow night. All proceeds from Rock Lottery go to a local charity, World Savvy.
